About our Cedar products

Rough harvested Cedar is the latest addition to our raw material.  These logs came from our local mountains from trees which had to be cut down many years ago due to a wood boar (insect) problem.   Normally these would either go to firewood or the land fill but we are actually recycling them into beautiful pieces of art to be enjoyed for years to come.  The bugs have long since left the wood however they did leave behind evidence of their presence in the form of tiny holes.   These logs have a very rustic look much unlike the milled Redwood.  There will be pits, dents and checking. We feel, and think you will agree, that this only enhances the beauty of these pieces rather than detract from it.  Cedar has a beautiful rich grain pattern and a wonderful smell.    Bosko lets the raw shape of the wood guide his finished design (they are not perfectly round) thus each log will have a unique shape making each of these very unique creations.  The other advantage to this material unlike our (larger diameter) redwood or even palm wood, it is stabilized, they are totally dry and can take a finish right now. Cedar has a natural resistance to weather and the elements, with regular care they should last a life time.

We strive to accurately present our products, in general there will be some slight variation in appearance due to its hand crafted nature. Our wood products are hand carved from a solid block of wood and they exhibit natural variations in grain, color and checking.
